Council's General Manager Concerned by Recent Allegations and Public Comments

Narromine Shire Council’s General Manager, Jane Redden has expressed her concern regarding recent comments made in the public domain around accusations of wrongdoing by Council officials and staff. “Council is dedicated to fostering an open dialogue with the community and values feedback as an essential part of continuous improvement”, she said.

“Council recognises that concerns may arise from time to time and would like to ensure that all residents are aware of the appropriate channels for expressing complaints about Council's services or officials. Council’s Code of Conduct outlines the standards of conduct that should be adhered to in relation to accountability and there are formal processes that deal with allegations of wrongdoing”.

“Allegations made publicly only serve to divide the community. The ongoing division is distracting Council from its primary focus of providing services to the community”.

Mrs Redden urges residents to familiarise themselves with the complaint handling procedures that are outlined on the Office of Local Government’s website and Narromine Shire Council’s website.
