Community Services
The Community Services Department plan and deliver Council’s services and support in the Narromine Shire in the areas of:
Tourism and Economic Development
Events Management
Youth
Arts and Culture
Indigenous Groups
Aged and Disabled Persons
Other Community support services which are consistent with Council’s Management Plan and Social Plan.
The dept is responsible for delivering Tourism Support, Business Development and Social Services on behalf of Council for the wider community.
Provide quality, accessible information for tourists and other visitors to the Shire
Co-ordinate inputs to regional tourism initiatives, including creating awareness and positioning of Narromine Shire attractions, facilities, services and events in Central West Tourism Clusters, and facilitate and co-ordinate Council inputs to Narromine Shire Events.
Collaborate with business and community groups to promote growth in Narromine Shire population, employment, business and community services;
Collaborate with existing and future programs from other levels of government, service clubs, community groups, churches, schools and others to facilitate and strengthen the delivery of services for youth, aged and disabled persons, and indigenous people;
Collaborate with business and community groups and other government programs to facilitate and promote arts and cultural activities in Narromine Shire.
Improve communication between council and the community.
The Community Services Centre is located at 37 Burroway Street, Narromine.
