Young drivers are three times more likely to be involved in casualty crashes. That's why the RTA has introduced a new licensing scheme, with more supervised driving practice for learner drivers. To help parents in supervising learner drivers, the RTA has set up a FREE 2 hour workshop for parents that offer practical advice on how to help learner drivers become safer drivers. A FREE RTA parents' workshop will be conducted by David Riches on Monday December 7th at the Narromine United Services Memorial Club from 5.30 pm – 7.30 pm. Narromine Shire Council have introduced a mob based recording system at the Narromine Saleyards Complex and plan to introduce a new fee within the 2009/10 Fees and Charges of 4 cents per head of sheep for the mob based recording. In accordance with Sect 405 of the Local Government Act, Council resolved to advertise the draft fee for the statutory 28 days and seek public comment on the proposed fee. Any submissions on this proposal fee should be made in writing addressed to the General Manager. Closing date for submission is 5pm Thursday 3rd December 2009. In accordance with Section 252 and 253 of the Local Government Act, it is necessary for Council to adopt a policy on the Payment of Expenses and Provision of Facilities to the Mayor and Councillors. Council considered the policy at its meeting on 20th October 2009 and it has been placed on public exhibition for 28 days. Copies of the policy are available from Council's office, on the website, Narromine and Trangie Libraries and the BP Service Station at Tomingley. Any person wishing to make a submission on the policy should forward the submission in writing to Council addressed to the General Manager, by 12 noon on Tuesday 17th November 2009.
