Narromine Shire Council marks National Sorry Day

Narromine Shire Council held a morning tea at the Council Chambers on Monday 26 May 2025, to acknowledge National Sorry Day with Narromine and Trangie Local Aboriginal Land Councils.

The gathering provided an opportunity for Councillors and staff to reflect on the significance of the day and show respect for the stolen generations and their families.

Mayor Clr Ewen Jones said, “It is important that we take the time to acknowledge National Sorry Day and reflect on the ongoing journey of healing and reconciliation.”

National Sorry Day, held on 26 May each year, is a time to acknowledge the past and support healing, understanding and unity for all Australians.
