Water Restrictions to be lifted for Narromine Shire Council residents

Water restrictions will be lifted in the Narromine Local Government Area effective Monday 15 February 2021.

Narromine Shire Council Mayor Clr Craig Davies said, ‘With the completion of the additional deep bores and the temporary water treatment plant together with the more favourable weather conditions, Council is able to move away from Level 1 water restrictions.

It is important for the community to understand that a decision to lift water restrictions is not taken lightly and we can only impose water restrictions when there is a definite shortage of water or where the capacity of the system is not able to keep up with demand.

Council would like to thank everyone who has committed to significantly reducing their water usage and urges everyone to continue their excellent water conservation habits'.

The experience gained over the past four years is that Council and community has been able to manage its water supply system through the worst drought on record and we should all be very proud of the commitment and resilience the community has shown, Clr Davies added.
