Community Urged To Report Vandalism In The Narromine Shire

Narromine Shire Council is calling on the community to play an active role in protecting public spaces following recent incidents of intentional vandalism at Dundas Park playground.

“These community spaces and facilities are built to improve quality of life, encourage outdoor activity and provide inclusive, welcoming environments for all residents and visitors,” said General Manager Jane Redden. “It’s disheartening to see deliberate damage that not only affects those who use these spaces but also redirects valuable resources away from other important community projects.”

To assist in addressing this issue, Narromine Shire Council continues to promote its Vandalism Rewards Scheme Policy. Under this policy, rewards of up to $5,000 are available for information that leads to legal outcomes, including convictions, cautions or juvenile justice actions.

Council encourages the community to remain vigilant and report any suspicious behaviour.

To report vandalism or suspicious activity anywhere please contact NSW Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000. In an emergency, always call 000. To learn more about Narromine Shire Council’s Vandalism Rewards Scheme Policy visit www.narromine.nsw.gov.au/council/policies

"Council monitors many sites using mobile security cameras, but by working together, we can help protect and preserve the places we all value and enjoy," Mrs Redden said.
