Narromine Shire Council is inviting community members to have their say on a range of draft planning documents that are now on public exhibition as part of Council’s Integrated Planning and Reporting (IP&R) framework.
Narromine Shire Council Mayor Ewen Jones said the documents guide the long-term vision, priorities and delivery of services across the Narromine Shire, and encouraged residents to provide feedback.
“These are important documents that shape the future of our region and reflect the community’s aspirations and expectations,” said Mayor Jones. “We want to make sure they align with what our community values and needs - so we’re calling on residents, businesses and community groups to take a look and share their feedback.”
The following draft documents are currently on public exhibition until Tuesday, 18 June 2025:
“These plans help shape our future, covering everything from roads and footpaths to sporting grounds and libraries," added Clr Jones.
“Of particular interest to residents will be the planned 15% increase in water access and usage charges. The additional funds collected will be allocated to the development of the new water treatment plant for Narromine”.
Council is well underway with design of the new treatment plant, with construction scheduled commence in 2027. Council is actively working with the NSW Government to pursue funding through the Safe and Secure Framework, which will contribute up to 75% of the project’s total cost.
Following the exhibition period, Council will consider the submissions received before presenting the final documents for endorsement at its meeting on Wednesday, 25 June 2025.
