Water pumping to commence on Thursday 26 March

Residents are advised that Council will be commencing water testing at Bore 8,located on McGrane Way, adjacent to the Narromine Wetlands from Thursday 26 March for 72 hours.

The water test is required to establish available water yield, chemical characteristics, biological status and draw down capability of the bore.

Narromine Shire Council’s General Manager Jane Redden said “The test will involved the pumping of a large volume of water for 72 hours”

“Council will endeavour to ensure that the water is retained within the wetlands”

“Unfortunately the water being pumped is not suitable to be captured as there can not be any resistance placed on the pumping equipment or it will corrupt the test results” she said.

Water testing is mandatory as part of the bore construction and to ensure the bore is able to supply additional water for Narromine.
